Four UTAR research teams won the Malaysian Innovative Product Award, KASS Best Invention Award, a gold award and two bronze awards in the 24th International Invention and Industry Design and Technology Exhibition (ITEX) held in Kuala Lumpur from 9 to 11 May 2013.

Thirty-four delegates of the Rainbow Chinese Orchestra, Hong Kong Baptist Church stopped over on 14 May 2013 at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) campus in Kampar, Perak, during their performance tour to Malaysia.

Eden Team, from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and the University of Nottingham, emerged champion at the Schneider Electric University Challenge 2012-2013 themed 'Go Green in the City' and received RM8,000 cash prize and a certificate of honour for each of its member.

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (MAICSA) signed an agreement and supplementary letter at UTAR Petaling Jaya Campus on 15 May 2013 to award UTAR MBA (Corporate Governance) students MAICSA graduate status.

UTAR Perak Campus is now an architectural masterpiece when its architect consulting firm, The Architectural Network (tAN), received the Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) gold award in the education category at the PAM Awards 2013 ceremony held on 11 May 2013.

Several UTAR Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FICT) students were proud winners and recipients of several prizes and awards during the Hilti-UTAR Innovation Challenge 2013 prize giving ceremony on 18 April at UTAR Perak Campus.
