Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) and Plymouth State University (PSU) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at a ceremony held at UTAR Perak Campus in Kampar on 11 January 2012.

Three academics from UTAR were recognised for their contributions to the scientific field by the Malaysia Toray Science Foundation at the 18th MTSF Prize Presentation Ceremony on 21 December 2011.

UTAR Centre for Biodiversity Research had successfully organized the fourth series of Agriculture Technology Seminar recently, with the theme "Current R&D of Agroindustries in Malaysia".

The Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha has recommended that announcements in Tamil be made available in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) beginning in 2012.
