  1. I have found a book that I am interested from the OPAC but  without item information, what does this mean?

    The record without item information means the book has been ordered but not yet arrived.

  2. What should I do if the OPAC shows that the book is in the library but it's not on the shelf?

    If an item is shown as 'not on loan' on the OPAC, but cannot be found on the shelves, library staff will endeavour to find the item for you. It may be, for example, that the item has just been returned to the library and is waiting to be reshelved, or that the item needs to be repaired, or is being used by another student in the library but has not been checked out yet. It may be that the item is newly arrived in the library and has only just been processed ready for loan.

  3. The OPAC shows that the item that I want is in Red-spot, what is Red-spot books?

    Red-spot books are those books in high demand and served as compulsory reading materials given by the lecturers. They can only be borrowed for 2 hours or overnight.

    Overnight borrowing shall be after 4.00 pm during weekdays and 11:00 am on weekends and the book must be returned on the following working day before 10:00 am.

  4. How will I know when my requested item is ready to be collected?

    You can check your registered UTAR email with the Library or check your Patron Account in the library OPAC.

  5. What is a Call Number? How do I use a Call Number to locate a book?
