   Loan Eligibility Requirement

  • Malaysian citizen
  • Pursuing full-time first degree course in UTAR
  • Student MUST meet UTAR minimum entry requirement for all the courses approved by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and Department of Private Education /Jabatan Pendidikan Swasta (JPS) and Ministry of Education (MOE)/ Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM).
  • No other financial assistance (except bank loans)
  • At the time of application, student must not be in the last year of his/her course
  • Student who obtained his/her PTPTN loan previously in other institution but failed to complete his/her study is only eligible to apply for the second time upon payment of all outstanding debts to PTPTN
  • Other requirements/criteria as decided by PTPTN

   Online Application Date

  • For January Trimester & May Trimester Intakes students, the deadline to apply for PTPTN online loan application is as follows:
Intake 1st Deadline for PTPTN Loan Online Application 2nd Deadline for PTPTN Loan Online Application
(if the students have missed the first (1st) deadline)
January Trimester 1st day of students' registration day - 15 February 16 February -15 March
May Trimester 1st day of students' registration day - 15 June 16 June - 30th July

   Loan Disbursement

  • Payment will be credited directly to student's Personal Public Bank account
  • Payments are made twice per academic year during the two(2) long trimesters
  • The first loan is released only after the completed agreement is received by PTPTN
  • Subsequent loan will be disbursed after PTPTN has received confirmation from UTAR that the student is successful in continuing his/ her studies and has obtained a GPA of 2.0000 and above.

   Loan Repayment

  • Repayment will commence six (6) months after graduation or upon securing a job, whichever is earlier
  • Payments can be made via the following channel :
    1. Cheque / bank draft / money order
    2. Online payment
    3. Payment at PTPTN counter
    4. Salary Deduction via Inland Revenue Board (IRB)
  • 1% administrative cost per annum will be charged starting from the date of repayment
