1.  Student Accommodation

 

UTAR Department of International Student Services will assist students in locating accommodation near UTAR campus. Rental charges and deposits apply unless stated otherwise by the partner/host universities. Information on accommodation near UTAR campuses is available at:

2. Living Expenses

 

Daily living expenses depend on individual needs and lifestyle. An estimated cost of living per student in Malaysia is approximately shown as below:

3.  Entry Visa and Student Pass

 

By Malaysian law,  all Student Pass applications are processed through Education Malaysia Global Service (EMGS). All applications and extensions for a visa are coordinated by UTAR Department of International Student Services (DISS). DISS applies to EMGS on your behalf.  You will be contacted by email outlining all necessary documents and procedures.   

 

 

4. Insurance

 

It is compulsory for international students who entering Malaysia required to procure medical and health insurance through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS). You will be insured from the date you enter Malaysia if you inform your institution of the date as soon as you arrive.

 

EMGS offers 2 Medical Insurance providers; AIA and AXA.

 

AIA provides 3 types of insurance packages (Silver, Gold and Platinum), while AXA provides 4 types of insurance packages (AXA-450, Silver, Gold and Platinum). All of the insurance packages provided meet the minimum coverage requirements set out by the Ministry of Education (MOE)

5.  Library
