Subject to such additional qualifications required for each individual degree programme offered by the University, a candidate having fulfilled the minimum entry requirements stipulated hereinbelow shall be eligible for consideration for entry to Bachelor Honours Degree Programmes :-

Such applications shall be considered on a case-to-case basis . Successful applicants may be admitted with credit transfer, where applicable.

Certified copies of the Certificate of Awards, official transcripts, course structure, syllabi, samples of past examination papers and all other relevant information and materials related to the application are to be enclosed. Applications submitted without the above documents will be processed for normal admission without any consideration for credit transfer.

Applicants holding Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Vokasional (SPMV) qualifications may also apply. Successful applicants will be required to undertake the Foundation Programmes conducted at both Petaling Jaya and Perak Campuses. Upon successful completion of the Foundation Prgrammes, students will then proceed to the corresponding Bachelor Honours Degree Programmes courses.

Most programmes would normally require a credit or relevant score in English Language in one of the following examinations:

You are required to submit a written appeal for late registration to the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation. The outcome of the appeal depends upon the availability of places.

The Department of Student Affairs (DSA) assists students in obtaining accommodation in the manner as follows:

DSA Accommodation List
DSA has compiled a list of available accommodation within the vicinity of the campuses, i.e. around the Petaling Jaya area (Section 17, Section 14, SS2 and Section 19), Setapak and Bandar Sungai Long etc. The accommodation includes single-storey and double-storey houses, flats, apartments and condominiums.

Estate Agents
DSA provides a list of Estate Agents, who may help you get your choice of accommodation.

A wide range of financial assistance is provided by the University and appropriate advice and information can be obtained from the Division of Examinations, Awards and Scholarships (DEAS) or from the University Website at http://www.utar.edu.my.

You are required to submit a duly completed Application for Leave of Absence Form obtainable from the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation or the Faculty General Office or Centre for Founation Studies. Approval for such applications is not automatic but determined by the University on a case-to-case basis .

Where an application is made for leave of absence before the fifth week of trimester, all fees paid is transferable to the trimester the student rejoins his course.

For applications made after the above deadline, all fees paid are non-transferable except under extenuating circumstances approved by the University on a case-to-case basis .

Leave of Absence Application Form

You are to submit a completed Notification to Withdraw from the University form obtainable from the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation or the Faculty General Office or Centre for Foundation Studies.

Where a student withdraws before the commencement of the trimester, there will be a 70% refund of tuition fees and full refund on Caution Money upon a written request.

For withdrawal upon the commencement of the trimester, only the Caution Money will be refunded upon the written request.

You will be required to submit a duly completed Application for Reinstatement Form obtainable from the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation or the Faculty /Centre for Foundation Studies General Office. Reinstatement is not automatic but shall be determined by the University on a case-to-case basis .

(a)	firstly have paid the full fees and registered as a student of the University in the course stated in the letter of offer; and
(b)	meet the minimum entry requirements of the course which you wish to transfer to.

The Course Transfer form is obtainable from the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation or the Faculty General Office.

The closing date for submission of such applications is normally at the end of the second week post commencement of the trimester for new students.

Successful applicants who wish to accept the course transfer are required to pay the course transfer fee (compulsory) and difference in tuition fees (where applicable).

You are only allowed to commence your study in the course applied for upon official notification from the University to the effect that your application for course transfer is successful.

You may apply for course transfer in the final trimester of your Foundation Programme. All applications must be accompanied by photocopies of Notification of Results slip and will be considered on a case-to-case basis.

You are required to apply for the course transfer in the first trimester itself. Applications are considered on a case-to-case basis.

You are required to apply for a course transfer by submitting the Course Transfer by Existing Students form, certified true copy of your entry qualification and all Notification of Results of all your examination sittings at UTAR. Applications are considered on a case-to-case basis.

Course Transfer for Existing Students

Campus transfer is allowable only for Foundation Programmes and it is subject to availability of places.

Applicants must have been offered a place before applying for a campus transfer. To apply for a campus transfer, he is to submit a photocopy of his Letter of Offer together with the application form.

Successful applicants are required to confirm acceptance of transfer by completing the "Acceptance of Transfer Section" in the Letter of Offer for Campus Transfer.

Failing which the offer for the campus transfer lapses and becomes null and void and the applicant is deemed no longer interested in the approved campus transfer.

The application for campus transfer closes at the end of week 2 of each trimester.

The application for credit transfer is to be made together with the application for admission to the University. Certified true copy of the following documents must be submitted together with the Application Form:

(a)	Certificate of Awards;
(b)	Official academic transcripts;
(c)	Course structure and syllabi;
(d)	Official letter from private college/ Institution of Higher Learning on the Standard Minimum/ Accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), formerly known as National Accreditation Board (LAN); and
(e)	All relevant information and materials related to your previous studies from SPM/SPMV onwards.
