What are the general requirements for entry to Foundation Programmes at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman? |
|
A candidate having fulfilled the minimum entry requirements stipulated hereinbelow shall be eligible for consideration for entry into the Foundation Programmes:-
For the programme of Foundation in Science, the following are the minimum entry requirements:- |

Pass SPM with 5 credits which must include Mathematics and two Science subjects; OR
-
Pass STPM with 1 principal pass and SPM/O-Level with 3 credits (with credit or principal pass in Mathematics and one Science subject); OR
-
Pass A-Levels and SPM/O-Level with 3 credits (with credit or principal pass in Mathematics and one Science subject); OR
-
Pass South Australian Matriculation (SAM) with Grade C in 2 subjects and SPM/O-Level with 3 credits (with credit or Grade C in Mathematics and one Science subject); OR
-
Pass Canadian Pre-University (CPU) with an average of 60% in 2 subjects and SPM/ O-Level with 3 credits (with credit in Mathematics and one Science subject); OR

Successful applicants will be required to undertake the Foundation Programmes conducted at both Petaling Jaya and Perak Campuses. Upon successful completion of the Foundation Prgrammes, students will then proceed to the corresponding Bachelor Honours Degree Programmes courses. |

The Department of Student Affairs (DSA) assists students in obtaining accommodation in the manner as follows: DSA Accommodation List DSA has compiled a list of available accommodation within the vicinity of the campuses, i.e. around the Petaling Jaya area (Section 17, Section 14, SS2 and Section 19), Setapak and Bandar Sungai Long etc. The accommodation includes single-storey and double-storey houses, flats, apartments and condominiums. |
Where an application is made for leave of absence before the fifth week of trimester, all fees paid is transferable to the trimester the student rejoins his course. For applications made after the above deadline, all fees paid are non-transferable except under extenuating circumstances approved by the University on a case-to-case basis . You are to submit a completed Notification to Withdraw from the University form obtainable from the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation or the Faculty General Office or Centre for Foundation Studies. |

I wish to withdraw from the University. Will my fees be refunded? |
|
Where a student withdraws before the commencement of the trimester, there will be a 70% refund of tuition fees and full refund on Caution Money upon a written request.
For withdrawal upon the commencement of the trimester, only the Caution Money will be refunded upon the written request. |

firstly have paid the full fees and registered as a student of the University in the course stated in the letter of offer; and |

meet the minimum entry requirements of the course which you wish to transfer to. | |
|
|
|
The Course Transfer form is obtainable from the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation or the Faculty General Office. The closing date for submission of such applications is normally at the end of the second week post commencement of the trimester for new students. Successful applicants who wish to accept the course transfer are required to pay the course transfer fee (compulsory) and difference in tuition fees (where applicable). You are required to apply for the course transfer in the first trimester itself. Applications are considered on a case-to-case basis. |

firstly have paid the full fees and registered as a student of the University in the course stated in the letter of offer; and |
|
|
| (b) |
meet the minimum entry requirements of the course which you wish to transfer to. | |
|
|
|
The Course Transfer form is obtainable from the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation or the Centre for Foundation Studies. The closing date for submission of such applications is normally at the end of the second week post commencement of the trimester for new students. Successful applicants who wish to accept the course transfer are required to pay the course transfer fee (compulsory) and difference in tuition fees (where applicable). | Campus Transfer |

How do I apply for campus transfer? |
|
Campus transfer is allowable only for Foundation Programmes and it is subject to availability of places.
Applicants must have been offered a place before applying for a campus transfer. To apply for a campus transfer, he is to submit a photocopy of his Letter of Offer together with the application form.
Successful applicants are required to confirm acceptance of transfer by completing the "Acceptance of Transfer Section" in the Letter of Offer for Campus Transfer.
Failing which the offer for the campus transfer lapses and becomes null and void and the applicant is deemed no longer interested in the approved campus transfer.
The application for campus transfer closes at the end of week 2 of each trimester. |

How do I apply for credit transfer? |
|
The application for credit transfer is to be made together with the application for admission to the University. Certified true copy of the following documents must be submitted together with the Application Form: |

Official academic transcripts; |
| (c) |
Course structure and syllabi; |
| (d) |
Official letter from private college/ Institution of Higher Learning on the Standard Minimum/ Accreditation from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), formerly known as National Accreditation Board (LAN); and |
| (e) |
All relevant information and materials related to your previous studies from SPM/SPMV onwards. | |
