UTAR sweeps five inter-varsity literature awards

UTAR students swept five awards at 'The 17th New Era Inter-varsity Literature Award' jointly organized by the New Era College and the Writers' Association of Chinese Medium of Malaysia.

The tertiary Chinese literature award was classified into four categories: novel, prose, poem and literary critics.  Four UTAR students participated in the competition and the awards won were as follows:

Loo who won the first prize of The Literary Critics Award with her entry titled 'Discourse on the Parody of Huang Jinshu's Novel' expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all ICS lecturers for their guidance during her three-year Chinese
Studies programme.

The winners received the awards from YB Dato' Dr. Hou Kok Chung at a presentation ceremony held on 12 December 2010 at the New Era College, Selangor.
