The UTAR Ball Night 2009 , themed 'Enchanting Moments' and held on 9 March 2009 at Sunway Resort Hotel and Spa, Petaling Jaya, Selangor, was more than an event that drew students from all four of UTAR campuses for a fun-filled night. It was also an event that brought in RM14,000 for the organisers, which was all donated to four charity organisations in Klang Valley.

The charity organisations which received the donations were Rumah Kasih, Persatuan Damai Orang Kurang Upaya, PAWS Animal Welfare Society and Pertubuhan Amal Seri Sinar. Representatives of the organisations attended a mock cheque presentation ceremony organised by the UTAR Ball Night Committee on 18 July 2009 at UTAR Petaling Jaya Campus.

According to the Chairman of UTAR Ball Night 2009, Pearly Yuen, the profits from previous UTAR Ball Nights were always used to subsidise the committee members' tickets and to organise an appreciation meal for the organising committee members and helpers. However, this time around, the UTAR Ball Night 2009 Committee decided to donate all the profits to the charity instead.

"We decided to turn the tables around this year and reach out to care for those in need," she said.

On their roles in society, she expressed, "We, the organising committee, truly believe that it is essential for us as the upcoming generation to play an active role in giving back to the society and in helping those who are less fortunate than ourselves."

She thanked the UTAR Ball Night 2009 committee members, helpers, performers and UTAR staff for their hard work and commitment in making the UTAR Ball Night 2009 a success.

On her experience in organising the event, she quipped, "I personally think that the ride was crazy... but the memories were great."
