Lee Sheng Wang, an Advertising student at UTAR Perak Campus, produced a short documentary titled Pembedahan Implan Koklea that has been shortlisted as one of the top ten productions in the documentary category for the award night of Program Karyawan Muda 2008, which was held at Auditorium Perdana, Angkasapuri and telecasted live on RTM's TV2 at 8.30 pm on 18 April 2009. Program Karyawan Muda 2008 is a national competition organised by the then Ministry of Information (now known as Ministry of Information, Communications, Arts and Culture) through two of its departments, National Film Department (FNM) and Department of Broadcasting (RTM). The competition was open to all Malaysians below the age of 30 with the objective of fielding new talents into the local film scene as well as providing budding filmmakers a platform to showcase their creativity. Lee's entry was selected from 132 productions submitted for four categories - documentary, experimental, animation and comedy. The best 10 entries from each category were picked by specially appointed professional judges. Lee said, "My documentary is an educational documentary in Bahasa Malaysia on cochlear implant." He added, "It is aimed at promoting the restoration of hearing to hearing impaired individuals." Previously, when he was 15, Lim had produced a short film titled Keluarga Bahagia Tanpa Dadah which was also shortlisted as the Top Ten productions for Anugerah Filem Pendek 2006. # # # Photo and Caption ![]() Lee Sheng Wang at his home studio |
