UTAR Scholarships For Top Achievers

The University provides scholarships to applicants with outstanding academic performance to pursue its undergraduate and foundation programmes (exclude the MBBS programme)

The minimum award criteria for the scholarship to pursue UTAR undergraduate programmes are as follows:

  • STPM/ A-Levels or equivalent: 4A's, or
  • UEC or equivalent: 9A's, or
  • Canadian Pre-University: 95% for all subjects with a minimum of 6 subjects, or
  • South Australian Matriculation: A's for all subjects with a minimum of 5 subjects, or
  • Full Tuition Fee Scholarship
    Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman Diploma: CGPA of 3.900 and above, or
    UTAR Foundation Programmes: CGPA of 3.900 and above, or
  • Half Tuition Fee Scholarship
    Kolej Tunku Abdul Rahman Diploma: CGPA of 3.800 to 3.899, or
    UTAR Foundation Programmes: CGPA of 3.800 to 3.899

The minimum criteria for UTAR Foundation Scholarship is SPM 7A's and above.

Introduction

 

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman has established a scholarship referred to as the ? Scholarship?. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to deserving and needy students of the University in the form of full or partial waiver of tuition fees.

2.

Criteria for Selection

 

Consideration for the scholarship awards will be based on the following criteria:

Must be a Malaysian citizen;

2.2

Family and personal income and commitments;

2.3

Scholastic ability and academic performance;

2.4

Character and involvement in extra-curricular activities.

3.

Regulations

 

Applications shall be made on prescribed forms and shall be submitted to the Division of Examinations, Awards and Scholarships. Applicants should not concurrently hold any other scholarship, loan or financial aid.

 

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         

3.1

Each scholarship to be awarded shall be subjected to review by the University on a semester basis.

3.2

The University shall be entitled to make such enquiries into an applicants financial standing as is deemed necessary. An applicant must name two referees who are not related to him and who will be able to report on the applicant financial circumstances an d character.

3.3

Each applicant must have the consent of his parent or guardian.

3.4

Successful applicants will be required to enter into an agreement with the University. Two referees approved by the University are required for each applicant.

4.

4.1

The University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship at any time should the University find that the information given by the students is untrue or incorrect. In this instance, the amount of the scholarship disbursed shall be repaid immediately.

4.2

In the event of any misconduct of the said scholarship recipient resulting in penalties/punishment from the University 's Disciplinary Board, the sc holarship will automatically be withdrawn.

Student with actual results who meet the minimum award criteria are automatically offered the UTAR Scholarship upon submitting their Admission Application Form to the Department of Admissions and Credit Evaluation (DACE). They must then follow up by signing and returning the scholarship acceptance letter within the stipulated deadline to Division of Examinations, Awards and Scholarships (DEAS).

Students who join with forecast results will need to submit the Application Form for Scholarship at the Division of Examinations, Awards and Scholarships (DEAS) within 2 weeks after their actual results are released.All the terms and conditions will be stated in the scholarship award letter.
